The spring wild flowers are a phenomenon that never ceases to amaze and delight, even for those who live in what is considered South Africa's "outback".
Almost 4,000 different species of plant seeds lie awaiting germination that depends entirely on what the weather is doing. Thus every year between July and October brings a different formula, and a different selection of flowers.
At approximately 120km from the border to Namibia Springbok is its gateway. Set in the Namakwa region of the Northern Cape Province, Springbok is the ideal overnight stop and is situated halfway between Cape Town and Windhoek on the N7 Cape to Namibia route.

I wish I could be back on the Môrewag guestfarm tomorrow! Absolute peace and quiet away from the city and town. Yet not too far away from town for a quick lunch or going to the shops. Springbok town also lovely.. this place is simple, but definitely for those who love the simple things in life.
The accommodation is very reasonably priced, very neat, and very comfortable. It suited all of our needs for the stay. It was quiet, and we were able to come and go as we please. Len welcomed us, and he was available and around should we have needed him during our stay. The only thing worth mentioning that was not completely up to standard, is the water pressure in the shower in the chalet. We worked in the field and it would have been much more comfortable if we have a shower with good water pressure to wash of f the days grime :)All in all it was a value for money stay!
We received a warm welcome from Len, the Morewag farm owner, though we arrived quite late at night. We had booked a bungalow but he kindly upgraded us to a Chalet at no extra cost: thank you. The premises were clean, comfortable and secure surrounded by the beautiful farm environment and mountains. Tranquil and Serene and the perfect stopover just 10 minutes outside of Springbok on the way to Kleinsee and Nababeep.
Nice and clean and has all that we needed. We enjoyed our stay and if glits and glam is not your need this is the ideal place to stay. We also felt safe all the time.
